Falcon Theatre is proud to present the hit romantic comedy Southern Comforts, written by Kathleen Clark and directed by Jules Aaron, the second production of its 2011-2012 Subscription Season. This sweet and sexy comedy stars Michael Learned (The Waltons, One Slight Hitch) and Granville Van Dusen (The Memoirs of Abraham Lincoln, Darwin in Malibu, Jonny Quest).
This Off-Broadway hit romantic comedy follows the enchanting romance between New Jersey widower Gus (Granville Van Dusen) and Southern widow Amanda (Michael Learned). While waiting out a thunderstorm, their opposite natures collide to create a sweet and intoxicating romance filled with perceptive humor and unpredictable tribulation, proving that it’s never too late to find the love of your life. The New York Times calls this must-see-show "a delightful and sneakily sexy romance!"
Southern Comforts plays five weeks, Wednesday-Saturday at 8pm, with Sunday matinees at 4pm.

"Directed by Southland treasure Jules Aaron, Southern Comforts features stellar performances by a pair of stage and screen vets whose resumes could fill a phone book. Learned brings to her role…oodles of charm and warmth, and razor-sharp comic timing…Van Dusen simply couldn’t be better as the crotchety old Northerner…There’s an abundance of romantic and sexual chemistry between the two stars, and their fight scenes snap, crackle and pop…Deliciously comedic and touchingly dramatic, Southern Comforts gives us an improbable pair of romantic sweethearts in whose happiness we become quickly and thoroughly invested…Not only will the older theatergoing set enjoy seeing their own age group spotlighted on the Falcon stage, audiences of any age will find considerable Southern comfort and joy in Southern Comforts." – Stage Scene LA |
